Grunge Alleyway Asset Pack
This asset pack and scene example was created as part of an assessment piece for QUT Unit IGB400.
For this assessment, I was required to access my portfolio to find gaps that I had not yet filled. After my assessment, I decided to create and upload a downloadable asset pack as I had not published any of my work for use outside of my own projects.
The original pitch for this project can be found at the bottom of this page. My mid-poly modeling and mix between stylized and realistic texturing style is presented through these assets and displays my ability to create aesthetically pleasing pieces.
Using Maya 2023, I created an example scene for this style of asset. And using Unreal Engine 4 and 5, I investigated its astounding scene lighting ability and rendering process.
This asset pack is also available for download by the same name on my portfolio.

Grunge Alleyway - 3D Scene with Asset Pack Pitch
Pre-amble
This project is for the IGB400 class of my degree. I am required to find an aspect of my portfolio that is missing and create a project to fill that missing piece. For these last few months of my degree, I will be creating an environment with a downloadable asset pack that will be posted to this portfolio and other websites. This project will heavily focus on detailed textures and lighting. This project will hopefully show my skills in creating high-quality assets.
Project Overview
AI-Generated concept art for the project
For this project, a 3D scene of a grunge alleyway filled with rubbish, glass, broken neon signs, hanging clotheslines, aircon units, etc. that opens up to a bright, new street will be created using several industry standard applications and software. This project will include all of the major production types for a general 3D scene. Modeling, texturing, scene setup, lighting, animation, rendering, and for this project specifically, a downloadable asset pack. I plan to implement a blog thread to update followers of this project in real time on both my social media and this portfolio, this thread will be visible above this project pitch. This live updated thread will also allow me to keep track of finishing dates for each aspect of the project to ensure it is produced on time according to the project timeline.

Reflection of Industry
In reflection of the animation industry, several industry standards are used in the production of major and minor projects. Applications like Maya include a student demo version. This allows learning students to access the full application that will be used in real-world industries. With the recent takeover of Substance by Adobe, student licenses have been slashed, causing this industry standard application to not be easily accessible to students. This is also the case for several applications including the Adobe Creative Cloud, ZBrush, and several more. In reflection of this crucial issue within the industry, I believe students should have full and free access to these applications, if not through the company itself, through the university or teaching company they are enrolled in. Over the past 3 years of my degree, I have not been able to access applications to learn without spending my hard-earned money as a university student. If this issue is better tackled by the applications and teaching services, I believe I would have been able to take a lot more from this degree and the knowledge I would learn through those industry-standard applications and software. (This issue is a major possibility for me during this project and may interrupt my abilities, this is why I have chosen to reflect on this topic within the industry.)
